The task of this project was to design and produce a multi page guidebook for the Brisbane Canvas Project. All of the text and images were supplied and we were tasked with building the booklet per the clients guidelines. The final document needed to be prepared using industry standard function, i.e. paragraph/table styles.
There were a number of challenges with creating this project which I think I did really well I overcoming. One of the first challenges I found was creating a layout that was not only more experimental but different each spread. I approached this assignment that same way I would a UX project. I created a draft layout after familiarizing myself with the supplied material. This helped me get a good idea of the look and feel for the booklet and from that I slowly refined the design and added anything additional as I went along.
It really came down to experimenting, then test printing and refining that look and feel.
